About The Author

MARJ HEYDUCK, native Daytonian, started to work for The Dayton Journal Herald in 1943; "Third and Main" became a daily column on Nov. 20, 1944. She was editor of the women's department for 16 years and, on Jan. 1, 1966, became Assistant to the Editor of The Journal Herald.

The first collection of "Third and Main" columns appeared in 1962 and is called 'The Best of Marj." The second collection, "The Anniversary Marj," was published in 1964.
