ABOUT THE AUTHOR

MARJ HEYDUCK, who started to work for The Dayton Journal Herald in 1943, has been editor of the women's department since 1949. She is a native Daytonian.

Her first collection of "Third and Main" columns appeared in 1962 and is called "The Best of Marj."
