I am indebted to Claudia Watson of the Montgomery County Historical Society, for use of the photographs and material from the immense NCR Archive at the Montgomery County Historical Society. Without her help, this would have been just another boring cookbook. I am also honored to be a part of the MCHS staff.

I am also indebted to Bill West. His knowledge of NCR’s past was of immeasurable help with the history to be found with the pictures within. It is because of his diligence as caretaker of NCR’s historical artifacts for the past 15 years that the negatives for the photographs used in this book have survived. This is especially telling when you realize that most of the photographs used in this book were taken from negatives made of glass, some of which are over a century old.
