I'm attempting to locate a 13" seacoast mortar that apparently resides in Dayton, Ohio. It was a mortar that was originally on the USS John Griffith, and among the 27 surviving mortars from the Civil War.

Does anyone recall seeing this massive 17,000 pd cast iron mortar in Dayton? http://www.civilwarphotos.net/files/images/060.jpg

Please let me know as I'm verifying locations. Thank you!

I'm not certain, but I recently read an article about a cannon that was at Old Greencastle cemetery in Dayton. I think that the cannon was traded to some organization where the cannon was originally from or was built. And they replaced it with a mortar. This looks similar to a photo that I saw. (I may also have this backwards and the mortar was replaced here by the cannon!)
